Portsmouth parking garages open

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - As Hurricane Sandy approaches Hampton Roads, Portsmouth city officials are preparing their residents by offering free parking at several garages.

The Latest on Hurricane Sandy

Residents may park their cars at the following city garages at no cost starting 6 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 on the second floors and above:

  • County Street Garage (1st and 2nd floors only)
  • Harbor Court Garage (6'2" clearance)
  • Middle Street Garage
  • Water Street Garage

Vehicles should not be parking in 24-hour reserved, Harbor Tower, Police Department or Sheriff's Department sports.
