PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Portsmouth and Norfolk city garages will be open to residents seeking refuge in the event of severe weather due to Hurricane Earl.
PORTSMOUTH:
According to public affairs officer Dana Woodson, beginning Thursday September 2, Portsmouth residents may park their vehicles in available parking spaces on the 2nd floor and above in the following parking garages, after 6 p.m. at no charge:
Residents may NOT park in the following marked spaces:
Vehicles must be moved by 7 a.m. Monday, September 6th.
NORFOLK:
In anticipation of possible tidal flooding of low lying areas in downtown Norfolk, Norfolk residents in the surrounding neighborhoods will be permitted to park at no charge, beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2 through Friday, Sept. 3, in the following City garages:
