NORFOLK, Va. - Captain Richard Phillips was honored on board the Norfolk-based USS Bainbridge on Thursday, November 19 for his dedication, bravery and patriotism.
In April, Somali pirates tried to take over the container ship Maersk Alabama, and Capt. Phillips offered himself up as a hostage to spare his crew.
