HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Routine tide gate testing at the eastbound tube of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel will cause traffic delays March 10.

The testing will take place from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. at the eastbound tube of the HRBT. Motorists using the HRBT can expect delays of up to 30 minutes as each gate is tested.

The Virginia Department of Transportation recommends motorists use the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel on Interstate 664 as an alternate.

Testing will including cycling the gates and roadway drain valves, VDOT said.
