Overturned vehicle causes I-64 backup

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - An accident involving an overturned vehicle created a traffic backup of several miles during the Wednesday afternoon rush hour.

The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on the Willoughby Bridge on I-64 eastbound. Both lanes of the interstate were closed for nearly an hour while crews cleared the scene.

Police have not released what may have caused the accident and if there were any injuries.
