WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) - Coach Tony Shaver may have been shaking his head this season watching his William and Mary basketball team blow some pretty big leads to top conference opponents, but one thing about coach Shaver, he always has team prepared for tournament time.
The CAA Tournament starts Saturday in Richmond.
With 13 wins, the Tribe has earned the sixth seed in the CAA tournament in Richmond, and will take on James Madison Saturday night. The winner of the tournament gets an automatic bid in the NCAA tournament, something the Tribe has never played in.
Brandon Britt thinks that chance sounds like a dream come true.
"Oh man, I can't explain what the feeling would be like, if we were to win it, I probably still couldn't describe it. Us and the guys were talking about it imagining how it would be. It's a big tournament and we usually play well in the tournament, coach Shaver's teams usually do well," said Britt.
