Tides break BLT record in home loss

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Norfolk Tides may have lost to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs Friday night at Harbor Park, but they did break the record for the longest BLT sandwich.

The previous record was 265 feet, but Executive Chef Steve Gillette told the Sportswrap that the old record in ancient history.

The length of the Tides record-breaking BLT was a mammoth 308.6 feet long.

The team sold off the sandwich to the fans for a one dollar donation with proceeds going to the Hampton Roads Food Bank.
