Portsmouth - Brown was elected into the college football hall of fame for his play at Maryland State...now the university of maryland eastern shore. He led the hawks to the CIAA title in 1957 and was named All-American in 1958 and 59.
Browns great play continued for 10 seaons in the NFL. At 6-4, 300 pounds, Brown was a ferocious defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams. He earned 6 trips to the pro bowl and this past season just missed out on being named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
While that announcement will have to wait, Brown now sets his sights on South Bend, Indiana for his July enshrinement.
