Norfolk, Va. (WAVY) - Fans arrived early on a beautiful football Saturday in Norfolk to enjoy the first meeting between Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University.

Sportsmanship, great food, tailgating, great atmosphere and a loud crowd combined to create a great way to bring the community together.

"To me this is definitely the loudest the crowd has ever been when we came out. It's packed. You couldn't see a seat in the crowd. I already knew it was going to be a big difference," said Prentice Gill.

"You know Bobby and I have talked for years. Let's keep an intense rivalry but friendly and he and I certainly are trying to that. Our players will be together in the summer time throwing the ball around and it's going to be like Hampton. It's a great rival game and it's only going to get better," said Pete Adrian.
