Selected by the Magic in second round

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk State center Kyle O'Quinn is heading to the NBA. The MEAC player of the year and MVP of the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament was selected with the 49th pick in the NBA draft by the Orlando Magic.

The 6'10" O'Quinn played four years at Norfolk State and averaged 15.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

He is known as a good mid-range jump shooter and good shot blocker, having averaged 2.7 in his final college season. The biggest questions surrounding him are his conditioning at a stout 240 pounds and his competition level coming out of MEAC.

However, his performance in the Spartans NCAA tournament upset win over Missouri opened some eyes and now, the charismatic O'Quinn gets his chance at the NBA.
