DETROIT (AP) — Damien Brunner had two goals and two assists yesterday in the Detroit Red Wings' 8-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Joakim Andersson, Henrik Zetterberg, Niklas Kronwall, Daniel Cleary and Jordin Tootoo also scored for the Red Wings. Goalie Jimmy Howard finished with 18 saves.

NEW YORK (AP) — Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum has been suspended one game for striking Indiana Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough in the stomach. The incident took place during Saturday's game at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Bynum will serve his punishment tonight when the Pistons face the Atlanta Hawks.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Trey Burke had 26 points yesterday to help No. 7 Michigan defeat Illinois 71-58. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 13 points for the Wolverines, who won consecutive games for the first time in nearly a month. Brandon Paul, D.J. Richardson and Tracy Abrams each scored 10 points for the Illini.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Aaron Craft scored a career-high 21 points yesterday to lead No. 18 Ohio State to a 68-60 win over No. 4 Michigan State. Deshaun Thomas added 14 points and Evan Ravenel had 10 for the Buckeyes. Freshman Gary Harris scored 14 points to lead the Spartans, who have dropped two in a row.
