PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - On the playing field, James Madison defensive end, Arthur Moats is a beast.
Off the field, he greets everyone with a smile. You can credit his mother for that.
The former Churchland star was named the defensive player of the year in division 1 double A.
He led the nation in tackles for loss.
So the 4 year starter was expecting to get the call on draft weekend.
It was a moment it the Moats family will never forget.
And now a permanent reminder has been stamped on his forearm.
The 178th overall pick in the 6th round to Buffalo.
Now the player nicknamed the body will move from defensive end to linebacker. It seems the odds have been stacked against him his entire career, but he will continue to use that to his advantage.
