RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) - Feyonda Fitzgerald scored 33 points and set a three-game state tournament record, leading Lake Taylor to a 56-53 victory over Princess Anne in the Group AAA girls basketball state championship game in VCU's Siegel Center on Friday night.

Endia McKinney added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Titans (28-1), who trailed by 10 early, but won their second title in four years.

Princess Anne, playing in a record fifth straight girls' title game, finished 30-2. Princess Anne had the final possession, but three attempts at a tying 3-pointer missed in the final seconds.

Fitzgerald, a Temple signee, scored 18 second-half points to finish the tournament with 96, surpassing West Springfield's Kara Lawson's 95 points in 1999.

Morgan Cooper led Princess Anne with 17 points and Janayla White added a double-double, 15 points and 12 rebounds.
