VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - It was a full house at CHKD's David Wright Vegas Night . Hundreds showed up to press their luck and meet some of the biggest athletes in Hampton Roads.

But, Friday night odds were good a lot of kids would get the help they need.

No real money was used at the tables, but lots of money was raised to support Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter .

In fact, according to CHKD , this year's event raised $136,000 for the kids; that's $25,000 more than last year.

New York Mets star David Wright said he was happy to give back to a community that's helped him so much.

"When you think about you know doing some good things in the community, you know, obviously children come to mind, and obviously children that are sick or some bad breaks, i can't think of a better cause," Wright added.
