NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - She will forever be one of the most successful and recognizable figures in Hampton Roads sports history. 

For almost a quarter century, Wendy Larry coached the Old Dominion Lady Monarchs.

As a player and coach at ODU, she was part of nearly 800 wins until the spring of 2011 when she resigned. 

New Athletic Director Wood Selig was not satisfied with the way the program was going. Coach Larry walked away with class, no harsh words, no interviews. 

Now the Associate Commissioner of the Atlantic 10, for the first time since leaving ODU she talked about the state of women's basketball with Sports Director Bruce Rader.
