HS junior already has dozens of offers

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - At 6'4" and 280 pounds, Oscar Smith High School lineman Andrew Brown is a physical force on the football field.

Because he was always to big, he was never able to play tackle football until the 7th grade. Now, he has quickly figured out why he likes the game so much.

"I love the contact because I was never able to hit when I was young and playing flag football," Brown said.

Brown, only a junior, is widely-considered one of the top defensive linemen in the nation for the class of 2014.

Tigers head coach Richard Morgan says he has never had a player so big that can move so well.

"It's an uncanny thing to see a guy 6'5", some 300 pounds, run that well," Morgan said.

Brown's versatility and size is one of the reasons why 30 college programs have offered him a full scholarship.

"It's been crazy in the last few months," Brown said. "I remember going to the ODU football camp as a freshman. The coaches took one look at me and offered me my first scholarship."
