Admirals introduce "new" coaching staff

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Two months after learning that the Anaheim Ducks would be replacing the Tampa Bay Lightning as the NHL affilate of the Admirals, we finally got a chance to meet the "new" coaching staff.

Trent Yawney, the Admirals coach from 2000 to 2005 from the Blackhawk days is back for a second tour of duty in Norfolk.

Joining Yawney on the bench, former Admirals defenseman Marty Wilford as well as a much slimmer Mike Haviland, who was head coach of the Admirals for two years following Yawney's stint.

Last season, the Ducks top affiliate was the Syracuse Crunch, and if you take away Norfolk's 28 game regular season winning streak, Syracuse was the second hottest team in the AHL.

Sportswrap's Brian Parsons has the story from Norfolk.
