CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The man accused of bilking thousands of dollars from consumers is now representing himself in court.
Court papers from Financing Alternatives George Christian are
handwritten and he now claims he's disabled, but doesn't say what
the disabililty is.
He also tells the court he doesn't have enough information to
answer many of the state's allegations because he doesn't have
enough information to confirm or deny allegations against him
because he wasn't running the shop.
He's also representing himself against state charges of
Fraud.
Christian states he did not "participate in the day to day
operations of the company."
A company accused of taking $18-hundred each from 1,765
customers, then failing to deliver the computers.
In the handwritten document he asks the court to strike
"scandalous" matters from its complaint against him, including that
Christian directed that $250,000 be wired from an FAI bank account
to a casino hotel located outside the United States.
State Attorney General Bob McDonnell has alleged Christian
took out $7.8-million from FAI, in part to finance his gambling
activities while consumers failed to get paid for computers.
Christian also wants the court to remove from the state's
complaint that consumers would pay FAI three times the cost they
would pay if they purchased the computer directly from the
manufacturer.
All of this comes at a time when the state claims Christian
has started Green Frog Funding.
Similar in operation as Financing Alternatives; no credit
check, and only a checking account needed.
Next Wednesday the court will decide whether to continue the
injunction to freeze Christian's assets.
