NORFOLK, Va. - An abduction suspect is behind bars and a Norfolk woman has been found safe.

It's a story WAVY.com has followed since last weekend.

Authorities arrested Martin Avalos in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Thursday. Police said the Norfolk man abducted his estranged girlfriend, Martha Luz Ortega, Nov. 20 on E. Little Creek Road.

It is unknown if Avalos will be transported back to Virginia. Authorities might choose to try him in Pennsylvania.
