VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Virginia Beach soldier has given his life in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Kenith Casica, 32 of Virginia Beach, was killed Dec. 10, 2005, in Baghdad as a result of enemy small arms fire.
Casica joined the Army two years after graduating from Green Run High School. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
Casica's family tells WAVY News 10 Kenith was injured in Baghdad back in April in a grenade attack. Three men in his platoon were killed in the attack. Casica sustained shrapnel wounds.
Kenith was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division based at Fort Campbell, Ky.
