CHESAPEAKE, VA. (WAVY.com) -- For months WAVY.com has been investigating a Chesapeake company accused of stealing millions from it's customers.  Wednesday the company's founder George Christian was back in court.

Christian used to run Financing Alternatives, a company which provided computers for people with bad credit.  The Attorney General's office says more than a thousand paying customers never got their computers.

The Attorney General says George Christian gambled away millions of stolen dollars.  Now it's Christian who's taking a gamble and representing himself.

"I apologize to the court that my housekeeping has been a little bit errant," Christian told the judge.

The founder of Financing Alternatives was back in court.  The judge ruled Wednesday that Christian's company assets are to remain frozen.

"I have no comment," said Christian.  "Were you scamming people," asked WAVY News 10's Jason Marks.

"No comment," Christian said.

The Attorney General is suing Christian for almost $8-million.  It's money they say he stole from his customers who brought computers that were never delivered.

Christian again found his character under attack.  Attorneys say he isn't turning over important company records, such as a master list of all his customers.

"He took all the assets and put them in his wife's name," said one attorney in court.  "He put them in his garage."

Christian claims his former employees set out to bring him and the company down.

"It sounds like he is just going to say that he was an innocent guy and all of these other people did it," said attorney Jason Roper.

"Why do you think so many people say they didn't get their computers," asked Marks.

"I don't know," Christian responded.

George Christian isn't saying much about the case against him, or where all of the companies records have gone.

It could be several months before his civil trial begins.  So far, no criminal charges have been filed against Christian.
