VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The golden age of television is entering a new era with the switch from analog to digital TV.

WAVY.com caught up with viewers at Town Center in Virginia Beach to ask them about the new system.

"Are you ready for digital tv?" We asked Maggie Masterson. "Yes," she said. "We have digital cable with Cox actually and a big old screen tv so we're ready."

Darlene Hill told us she was not yet ready. "Why?" We asked. "It starts tomorrow? I have other televisions that have digital capability."

We consulted Jason Campbell, a home essentials supervisor at Best Buy in Virginia Beach, about installing the DTV system at home for people who still have old style TV's. He told WAVY.com it's similar to hooking up an old style VCR with coax cable. He says people with the new flat screen TV's need not worry because their sets have built in digital tuners.

Campbell also said if you get your favorite shows through a satellite or cable subscriber you should be okay during the DTV conversion.
