NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Low income families are getting some tax relief in the form of free tax help.
If you earned less than $49-thousand in 2010 you may qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit . If you qualify, you can get your taxes done for free during National EITC Awareness Day on January 28 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Norfolk Workforce Development Center at 201 East Little Creek Road.
The Earned Income Tax Credit is a special federal tax credit for low-to moderate income taxpayers that lowers their tax liability and could result in a refund of $5,666.
National EITC Day is sponsored by the South Hampton Roads Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition .
