UNDATED (WAVY) - CNET news is warning Facebook users to avoid a potentially dangerous scam circulating via e-mail.

The e-mail labeled 'Facebook Password Confirmation! Customer Support' is a phishing scam that contains a password stealer that not only steals your Facebook password, but any other username and password from your computer, CNET reports.

A closer look at the e-mail, according to CNET, shows sure signs that it's a definite scam ( CLICK HERE TO SEE A SCREENSHOT ):

  • Facebook is not capitalized
  • It contains grammar mistakes
  • There's an attachment. Facebook never sends e-mail attachments; they send e-mail links.

The best way to ensure your computer is protected is to keep your security software up-to-date, and if you don't have security software, such as McAfee or Norton Antivirus you may want to consider investing in it. Also, CNET says to never open attachments from unknown senders. If you're in doubt about whether an attachment is good or bad, stick with your gut instinct and don't open it.
