February Shred-It event was a success

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - 10 On Your Side's latest Shred-It event was a big success.

WAVY TV, Shred-It and Jackson Hewitt Tax Service joined forces to host the February 27 event, which collected more than 3-thousand pounds of food and raised several hundred dollars.

As always, this event was free and open to the public. We simply asked for participants to bring a non-perishable food donation for the area food banks in exchange for having your documents shredded.

A few things to keep in mind if you are attending the event:

• Please be sure to remove all metal binding before bringing your documents to the event.
• Please keep in mind that we prefer paper bags (versus plastic)
• We ask that you limit your documents to 3 boxes or 4 bags.
• Please only bring documents/paper material and make sure no trash is mixed in with your documents.
