American Music Festival Information

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - The Annual Verizon Wireless American Music Festival will feature lots of heart when celebrating its “Sweet 16th” year along the oceanfront between Sept. 4-6. In fact, Heart is the headline band on Saturday night, and will perform a greatest hits package of their long and acclaimed career.

Headliners on the 5th Street Main Stage are world-class artists who will appeal to music lovers of all types.

Friday, Sept. 4 – Boyz II Men, with the Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards. Tickets are $15 advance, $20 day of show.

Saturday, Sept. 5 – Heart, with opening act to be announced. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 day of show.

Sunday, Sept 6 – The Black Crowes, presented by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half-Marathon. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 day of show.

A Passport Pin, at $30, provides admission to all three shows.

Tickets and Passport Pins go on sale Wednesday, July 1 through all Ticketmaster outlets, including online at www.ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800.745.3000.

In addition to the 5th Street Main Stage, national recording bands will perform free nightly along the boardwalk at oceanfront park stages at 17th Street, 24th Street and 31st Street.

“We have a fantastic line-up of diverse talent already scheduled,” said Mike Hilton, director of marketing for Beach Events, “even though it’s still early in the process. In the next few weeks, we’ll be announcing all the remaining bands as we confirm their participation for what looks to be our best Festival ever.”
