Statement of Bob McDonnell on Mims

RICHMOND, Va. - Bob McDonnell, Republican gubernatorial candidate and former Attorney General of Virginia, issued the following statement Thursday regarding the unanimous confirmation of Bill Mims as Attorney General of Virginia.

"Bill Mims has dedicated his career to serving the people of Virginia. Today's unanimous confirmation vote demonstrates the high regard in which Bill is held by leaders from both political parties. As my Chief Deputy Attorney General over the last three years Bill ran the day to day operations of the office with extraordinary management skill. He is beloved by the staff at the office, widely respected in the Virginia legal and political communities, and well suited to serve as the next Attorney General of Virginia. I have great confidence in Bill. He is a leader of great character and intellect, and he will run the Commonwealth's law firm with honor. I congratulate Bill on his confirmation as Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia."
