BLACKSBURG, Va. (WSLS) - Police say a Virginia Tech kicker and two others are behind bars after allegedly breaking into a Blacksburg home.

Officers responded to a home just outside of the downtown area in reference to a fight around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release.

Police arrested Virginia Tech kicker Cody Journell, Matthew Dunton and Matthew Brady.

Each were charged with breaking and entering. Each charge is a Class 2 Felony because of the alleged use of a dangerous weapon.

On Friday, WSLS reported that charges against the three may be upgraded to armed burglary because of the type of gun used.

All three men are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
