HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - With nearly 500 members, James Madison's marching band wasn't hard to miss in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Marching Royal Dukes performed Thursday in the holiday spectacle.
The 474-member band left JMU's Harrisonburg campus on Wednesday in 11 buses destined for Manhattan. They were set to rise before dawn to practice.
Along the 2.5-mile route, the Dukes planned to play "76 Trombones" and "1941."
The Dukes will return to Harrisonburg on Saturday afternoon to march in JMU's first-round football playoff game in Bridgeforth Stadium.
