RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The 20-year-old son of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds faces a hearing next week on an alcohol possession charge.

Austin Creigh Deeds was ticketed for the misdemeanor on May 30 in Bath County, the family's home.

The younger Deeds is scheduled for an initial appearance Wednesday in General District Court.

While the maximum penalty calls for up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine, first offenses such as this are commonly resolved with a much smaller fine.
