SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (AP) -- A Virginia man convicted for the 12th time in a drunken driving case will serve the maximum sentence.

Media outlets report that 44-year-old David Marion Apraham of Spotsylvania received a seven-year sentence on Tuesday in Spotsylvania Circuit Court..

Apraham had pleaded guilty in August to DUI, driving on a suspended license and refusing to take a breath test.

Court records show Apraham has two prior DUI convictions in Williamsburg and Colonial Heights, six in Mississippi and three in Alabama.

Spotsylvania County deputy prosecutor Tom Shaia says Apraham was supposed to be on house arrest in Mississippi when he was arrested on the latest Virginia charge in November 2011.

Apraham also faces DUI charges in North Carolina and Washington state.
