RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will address members of Virginia's largest farm lobby on a proposed constitutional amendment to limit the government's ability to take private land.
Cuccinelli will deliver his remarks Tuesday at a Virginia Farm Bureau legislative reception in Richmond.
The Farm Bureau has targeted a constitutional amendment in the 2012 session to make changes in the state's eminent domain law. If approved in the current session, it will be on the ballot later this year for voters' consideration.
The federation's president, Wayne F. Pryor, has cast the issue as one critical to farmers because of their need for land to farm.
Another key bill in the sights of the Farm Bureau is a Sunday hunting proposal. The Farm Bureau opposes it.
Eleven states prohibit hunting on Sunday.
