RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) - On the heels of his five-city two-day campaign tour around Virginia, President Barack Obama's campaign team opened three additional campaign offices in Hampton, Portsmouth and Martinsville.

“We know we’ve got a fight ahead of us, with Mitt Romney and his Super PAC allies spending unseen amounts of money to attack us on the air waves, but we’re going to win Virginia on the ground, with grassroots volunteers talking to their friends and neighbors in their communities about the president’s fight to restore economic security for middle class families,” said Senator Louise Lucas.

“We can’t afford to go backwards,” said former House of Delegates Minority Leader Ward Armstrong. “While President Obama is moving us forward to an economy that’s built to last by investing in the workers and industries here in the commonwealth, Mitt Romney would take us back to the same, failed, top-down economics of outsourcing, risky financial deals, and tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires that caused the economic crisis in the first place. Martinsville can’t afford an Outsourcer-in-Chief like Mitt Romney.”

Organizers say Obama For America now has 20 campaign offices in the Commonwealth in Norfolk, Blacksburg, Henrico, Alexandria, Fairfax, Newport News, Petersburg, Fredericksburg, Danville, Charlottesville, Prince William, Loudoun, Arlington, Falls Church, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Richmond.
