CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) - A Chesterfield County woman convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the suffocation of her infant daughter will spend four years in prison.

Twenty-five-year-old Robin Imami Varner pleaded guilty in February. She also pleaded guilty to felony child neglect.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/IAPCpj ) reports that Chesterfield Circuit Judge Harold W. Burgess sentenced Varner on Wednesday to 20 years in prison, with all but four years suspended.

Prosecutors say Varner placed several pillows and a blanket over her crying 5-month-old daughter, Josephina Lee, on Jan. 3, 2011, to muffle the infant.
