WASHINGTON (AP) - Metrorail is reopening, but officials are warning that the system could close early as a second major storm approaches the Mid-Atlantic region.
Trains will run at 30 minute intervals on Tuesday and heavy snow drifts on tracks is keeping five stations closed. Limited Metrobus service is operating.
In Baltimore, there's limited service on some bus routes, but the city's Metro Subway is running regular service on schedule.
MARC's Penn, Camden and Brunswick lines are operating with limited service. With the federal government closed, Virginia Railway Express said its trains will not run.
The National Weather Service is expecting 10 to 20 inches of snow by Wednesday evening with winds from 15 to 25 mph throughout the Baltimore-Washington region and into western Maryland and West Virginia.
