CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - It's been exactly two years since the remains of murdered Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington were found. Her parents marked the day by going back to Charlottesville.

Dan and Gil Harrington visited the Copeley Road Bridge, where Morgan was last seen after leaving a Metallica concert at the John Paul Jones Arena. Her body was found 101 days later at a farm in Albemarle County.

The Harringtons say the anniversaries are never easy, but they're thankful they have the closure.

"The death of Morgan is tragic to us, but the not knowing was really horrible and today being the anniversary of ending that 101 days we didn't know was truly one of the most horrible three months I think we've ever spent," Dan said.

DNA from Morgan's murder has been linked to a 2005 unsolved rape in Fairfax. Virginia State Police say the Harrington case is still active and they continue to get new leads.
