PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - U.S. Senate candidate and former governor of Virginia George Allen's (R) campaign has reportedly stopped his political ads in Virginia.

Allen's campaign officials say the ads are not running for "strategic reasons." They are set to resume, but the campaign would not tell WAVY.com when that would be.

Allen is campaigning against former governor Tim Kaine for the Senate seat.
