FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Fairfax County police have arrested a Kentucky man over allegations that he sexually assaulted two boys while serving as a pastor in northern Virginia.
Police say 64-year-old Tommy Shelton of Marion, Ky., turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday. Shelton faces two counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of indecent liberties with a minor and sodomy charges.
Shelton was the pastor of Community Church of God in Dunn Loring from 1995 to 2000. Police say in March 2008, a 27-year-old man reported that he had been molested by Shelton when he was 12 to 14 years old. Later that year, a 22-year-old man contacted police, also saying that he had been molested by Shelton when he was 8 to 9 years old.
Detectives secured warrants for Shelton last month.
