MINERAL, Va (WAVY) - Almost 1 year after Central Virginia was rocked by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake, a smaller tremor was felt early Tuesday morning. According to the latest reading from the U.S. Geological Survey , it happened just after midnight. it measured at a strength of 2.4 on the richter scale and was centered about 5 miles away from Mineral, Virginia. No word if it caused any damage.
This same area was hit by a 5.8 earthquake on August 23rd of last year. More than 1400 homes were damaged in Louisa County.
