Dominion Power plans center in Halifax

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Dominion Virginia Power plans to open a customer care center in Halifax County that's expected to create 150 jobs.

The $1.5 million project in South Boston is a partnership between Dominion Virginia Power and Faneul Inc. Hampton-based Faneuil provides call center services.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the project Thursday in a news release.

The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $800,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds for the project.
