NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Police say a former security assistant at a Virginia school conspired with a 15-year-old student to kill her husband.
Officials say the two had a consensual sexual relationship away from Renaissance Academy in Virginia Beach.
Patience Justine Perez has been charged in Norfolk in connection with the murder scheme. She also faces multiple charges of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship.
Norfolk police say the minor hasn't been charged.
The 22-year-old Perez has since been fired from her job at Renaissance Academy, an alternative school for students in middle and high school grades.
It wasn't immediately clear Thursday whether Perez had an attorney. She is being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10.
