Va. Beach lodging revenue up nearly 8 pct. in 2012

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Virginia Beach has recorded its third straight year of increased lodging revenue.

The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/12aivWr ) reports that lodging revenue in 2012 was nearly 8 percent higher than in 2011. Sales from hotels, vacation home rentals and campgrounds topped $301 million.

Citywide restaurant and amusement sales also increased.
