RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mark Warner is being recognized by the Navy for his support of the military.
The Virginia Democrat's office says Warner has been awarded the Navy's Distinguished Public Service Award by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus.
The award is the highest recognition the Navy can confer upon a civilian.
Mabus cited Warner's efforts on both the Senate's Budget and Intelligence committees.
