WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Hundreds of re-enactors depicting armed forces from the first century A.D. to modern times will gather in James City County later this month.

The occasion is Jamestown Settlement's annual "Military Through the Ages" event. The chronological display of military history will feature 35 groups based in Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey. Re-enactors and modern-day units will show how uniforms, weapons and military tactics evolved through the centuries.

The event is set for March 16 and 17. Admission is $16 for adults and $7.50 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are admitted free.
