Marvel, circus producer to team up on live show

McLEAN, Va. (AP) — The people who bring you The Greatest Show on Earth will be taking Spider-Man, the Hulk, Thor and the X-Men on a worldwide road show.

Feld Entertainment Inc. produces the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus along with shows such as Disney on Ice. It announced a partnership Wednesday with Marvel Entertainment to produce a live arena show.

Feld CEO Kenneth Feld tells The Associated Press he expects the show to open in July 2014.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Feld says production costs will likely exceed $10 million.

The Marvel partnership is one of several deals Virginia-based Feld Entertainment has made in recent years to expand its appeal to older kids, especially boys. The company also produces motor sports and monster truck shows.
