PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) — The Coast Guard rescued a man and his dog after his sailboat became disabled in the Back River near Hampton.
The 41-foot sailboat was disabled, adrift and dragging its anchor when the pair was rescued on Wednesday. The boat was found about half a mile northwest of the Bell Isle Marina in Hampton.
The man and his dog were taken to the Langley Air Force Base marina.
The Coast Guard says there were no injuries and the sailboat will be salvaged.
