MELFA, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police are investigating the ninth suspicious fire in six days on the Eastern Shore.
State police tell media outlets that a single-story commercial building caught fire in Melfa around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. The building wasn't occupied.
Eight other fires have occurred since Saturday.
More than 60 fires have been reported in Accomack County since last November.
No one has been injured. Many of the structures have been abandoned.
A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and a conviction.
