HOPEWELL, Va. (AP) — Sixty-four people face charges stemming from a six-month drug investigation in the Hopewell area.
Police announced Thursday that a special grand jury issued more than 200 indictments against the suspects last week. Charges include possession and distribution of narcotics and conspiracy in the distribution of crack cocaine and marijuana.
The investigation, called Operation Impact, was conducted by the Hopewell Police Department with assistance from Virginia State Police and the Central Virginia Narcotics Task Force.
Local, state and federal law enforcement officers began arresting the suspects Thursday.
