RADFORD, Va. (NBC) - A new study ranks divorce rates based on occupation. And as it turns out, dancers and choreographers top the list.

According to the research, more than 43 percent of marriages stumble when one or both of the spouses are a dancer or choreographer. Bartenders and massage therapists ranked second and third.

Researchers at Radford University used Census data from 2000 for their findings. The study identified people were were divorced at the time of the Census, not those who had previously divorced and remarried.

The study did not draw a direct cause and effect and it's not certain whether some types of jobs lead to divorce, or if people prone to unstable relationships are drawn to certain professions.
