Mattel to make bald Barbie

ATLANTA, GA (CNN) - Following an ongoing campaign on Facebook for Mattel to add a bald Barbie to its line-up, the company said it will create a bald friend of Barbie starting next year.

The doll will come with wigs, hats, scarves and other accessories to help kids suffering from hair-loss.

Unlike your regular Barbie doll, seen here, these bald dolls won't be found on store shelves.

Instead, Mattel says it will give the dolls directly to the children who have been most affected by hair loss through the Children's Hospital Association.

The company says it will also give dolls to the Children's Cancer and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
